Usually, the commissioning procedure is based on GOST RMK 62381-2016 "AUTOMATION SYSTEMS IN THE PROCESSING INDUSTRY".
This standard defines three levels of testing:
1 уровень — (FAT) — Factory acceptance tests(англ. Factory Acceptance Testing — FAT),
2 уровень (SAT) — On-site acceptance tests (англ. Site Acceptance Testing — SAT)
3 уровень (SIT) — On-site integration tests (англ. Site Integration Testing — SIT)
In the case of facilities with critical infrastructure (these include data centers), which contain the reservation elements, it is considered appropriate to use the level 3 (SIT) as a sublevel of integration testing for duplicate tests, backup and auxiliary systems.
After that, a level is added 4, so called «complex tests», which include extensive combined system testing. This level focuses on how to check the health of the facility during scheduled maintenance, and on emergency actions, capable of causing failure of critical components.
Besides, if third party certification is required, for example, от «Uptime Institute”, certification level can be added 5 (CERT).
